Project Overview
Residence 1973 was designed as a thoughtful reworking of our 1970s home, guided by a deep respect for its original character and a desire to evolve it for contemporary living. Drawing inspiration from the era, and from memories of my grandparents’ home, the project layers rich materiality, vintage pieces, custom joinery and carefully considered detailing to create a home that feels warm, expressive and deeply personal.
The original floor plan was reconfigured to improve flow and liveability, transforming a three bedroom, one bathroom home into a four bedroom, two bathroom home with a dedicated office, euro laundry and a more resolved kitchen and dining zone. Every selection was made to reinforce the design narrative, from Marron Emperador stone and walnut burl veneer, to bullion glass, handcrafted tiles and architectural hardware.
This project was about balance between past and present, texture and restraint, function and feeling. The result is a home that feels timeless, intentional and deeply personal.
